Digital Support, Welfare Referral and Advice Services
Folkestone Nepalese Community (FNC) provides digital support, welfare referral assistance, information, and practical help for FNC members and beneficiaries. Many senior citizens, Gurkha veterans, widows, vulnerable families, and community members with limited English or digital skills rely on the FNC Centre to access online services, complete forms, understand official letters, and receive appropriate referrals.
Through our Digital Support Drop-In and Referral Service, FNC provides advice, information, and practical support on welfare and statutory benefit-related matters.
Welfare and Benefit Support
FNC also supports beneficiaries who are experiencing financial difficulties by helping them access relevant services, information, referrals, and partner organisations.
Gurkha Veterans’ Documentation and Welfare Support
In addition, FNC works closely with Gurkha veterans’ advice and welfare Centre to support ex-Gurkha veterans living in Folkestone with Gurkha-related documentation and service matters. This includes support with:
Partnership and Referral Links
This work is delivered through partnership and referral links with organisations including Folkestone & Hythe District Council, Kent County Council, the Department for Work and Pensions, Gurkha Welfare Trust Advice Centre, SSAFA, Jobcentre Plus, and the Gurkha Welfare Advice Centre in Nepal.
Digital support, welfare referral, and Gurkha veteran assistance remain among the most important parts of FNC’s community support service. This work helps vulnerable beneficiaries access their entitlements, reduce digital exclusion, improve financial resilience, and ensure that Gurkha veterans, elderly members, and their families receive the support they need.
